1. Brush your teeth and mouth properly
When brushing only teeth is not enough because in your mouth also have gum, tongue and the roof of your mouth. You should brush your teeth 2 minutes twice a day and be gentle with your teeth, brushing too hard could damage your gums. Use the soft bristle toothbrush. And don’t forget to brush your tongue and inside your mouth also.
2. Floss regularly
Brushing can clean the surface of the teeth but it may not clean the spaces in between the teeth. This is why you need to floss also because it helps to get rid of food residue and other detrimental substances stuck between the teeth and helps reduce plaque. You should floss your teeth once a day.
3. Make sure that your diet is good for your teeth
Food such as cheese can increases saliva in the mouth also contain protein, calcium, and nutrients that help strengthen tooth enamel or apple that high in water and fiber while the action of chewing will remove the food particles and bacteria. Or even almonds because almonds contain a lot of calcium and protein but low in sugar which great for your teeth.
4. Limit of drinking sodas and alcohol
If you have to drink sodas or alcohol do it with the straw to avoid direct contact with the tooth surface and also should limit the amount of drinking too. Because these beverages contain phosphorus which important to your teeth but having too much of it also can be a problem. Go instead with the drinks that build enamel like milk it helps strengthen your teeth better than the sugary drink.
5. Visit the dentist regularly
You should see a dentist for a full oral check-up and teeth cleaning every 6 months. There might some dental problems that you may not be able to identify by yourself so leave it to the expert.
