People eat and drink every day for a living. Always concern about the nutrition and calories but do you ever considered what kind of food that good for your teeth?… areRarely, a lot of adults have missing teeth which can be caused by not eating the right food or vitamin that make your teeth strong and healthy. 

Food that bad for your teeth

1. Citrus and juices contain high vitamin is good for you in many ways, but for your teeth, because they are highly acidic which can damage your teeth enamel over time 

2. Chewy candy seems to be many people’s favorite. But it doesn’t do any good for your teeth. The stickier the candy, the worse for your teeth. These candies will stuck in-between your teeth long enough to let bacteria burns sugar to make acid, which will ruin you tooth enamel then left the cavities.

3. Hard candy dissolves slowly and stay in your mouth for several minutes. This giving bacteria more time to burns the sugar and make acid. The hard candy are favored with citric acts which harmful for your teeth.

4. Pickles that come from the preserve process by the acid that usually use vinegar really harmful to your tooth enamel 

5. Soda contain acids which when in carbonated soft drinks. They are even worse than the sugar. Even though, nowadays people more concern about calories and nutrition. The sugar-free Coke and Pepsi are invented. However, they still contain phosphoric acid and citric which effect the same as a normal soft drink. If you must have soda do with with meal because food will help neutralize the acid.

6. Sport drinks may be another choice for you when you want to drink something sweet and fizzy rather than soda because it seem better, but wrong again. Sport drinks and energy drinks aren’t any better than soda. Surprisingly, they are worse because there drinks are acidic and are potentially even wore in ruining the teeth enamel.

7. Wine is not so friendly with people who want to have white teeth. The same logic as if you spill wine on a white shirt it definitely will stain, this also apply with your teeth too. Wine contain chromogens and tannins that produce tooth-discoloring pigments and dry out your mouth. 

8. Crackers are carbohydrates also have saltines but when you eat them. They will change to sugar. They also become mushy after you chew them and will turn into a paste that will build up in your molars and will stuck in between your teeth. Crackers will only be temporary problems as long as you clean you teeth properly.

9. Coffee wakes you up from sleepiness at work in the morning but it will leave you a yellow-brown stain for years if you drink it often. The study says that coffee stain is more persistent than a tobacco stain. The coffee stains are harder to get rid of by brushing and tend to become discolored again.

10. Tea is also another drink that will discolor your teeth. Black tea may stain your teeth more than coffee even. For green tea, white tea and herbal tea they contain less tannins which seem to discolor your teeth less than other type of tea 

Tips for taking care of your teeth

1. Sugar-free gum can help in cleaning your teeth and mouth by stimulating the production of saliva which is the natural way of cleaning the mouth and remove the acid that produced by bacteria. The sugar-free gum usually sweetened with alcohol and xylitol. This will help reducing bacteria.

2. Water always good for you. Human body are composed of 60% of water. It is the transportation of nutrients and create saliva. Water contain fluoride. The same as your saliva, it contains fluoride, which help protect tooth erosion. Also found in mouthwashes and tooth paste.

3. Dairy product and milk contain with calcium which is really important for teeth. Also the the main source of hydroxyapatite. That strengthens bones and tooth enamel. Cheese contain casein when meet with calcium it will repair and stabilize tooth enamel.

4. Vegetables and high fiber food is good for your body and digestion system also provide healthy cholesterol. Good thing is they also good for your teeth too. When the chewing create the cleaning movement. Chewing make the food scrubs with the teeth and ansi generates saliva
